Tax Support Manager

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the VP of Operations, the Tax Support Manager will manage the daily operations of the Tax Support Department. The Manager will provide day-to-day coaching, guidance and leadership to the Tax Support Staff. The Manager will oversee the development, deployment and maintenance of standard operating procedures to meet the company's mission, vision and values regarding customer support.


Core Job Duties:

  • Provide day-to-day direction and support to Tax Support Supervisor(s), team leads and team members, including prioritizing and organizing workloads.
  • Provide metrics to senior management team on tax resolution efficiency from individual contributors.
  • Approve penalty payments and funding from the finance team.
  • Maintain escalation SLA's as approved by tax and senior management team.
  • Assist in ongoing education and training for the services provided by isolved.
  • Manage staff on creating and maintaining processes necessary for administering services and providing consistent compliance specifically pertaining to tax resolution.
  • Monitor and coach staff and supervisory team for development and progress against Performance Plan & Review documents.
  • Work with staff to improve understanding of duties and build relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Assist Client Response Management as required and performs all other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in the following areas:
    • Resolving in depth tax issues across various taxing agencies, including federal, state, and local agencies
    • Tax Implementation in HRIS/HCM SaaS environment
    • Completing amended tax returns
    • Resolving payroll tax notices
    • Quarter-end and year-end tax adjustments
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service oriented.
  • Possess strong communication skills to include written, verbal, listening, and basic instructional skills.
  • Keyboard and typing skills. Strong knowledge of computer software applications (i.e., Microsoft Outlook, Explorer, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Previous management experience required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated tax experience, preferably in a SaaS/HRIS/HCM environment.
