Job Description

The Tax operations Lead supports the Tax Department to achieve department goals. This person works closely with Tier 2, Tax Operation Management, and Tax Support teams to ensure all Daily, ME/QE/YE print duties are met timely accurately and troubleshoots problem areas before presenting an issue as an escalation.

Core Job Duties

  • Organize proper execution for daily tax mail
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Initiate the preparation and processing for power of attorney forms
  • Run inventory to ensure sufficient office supplies are for tax team
  • Correspond with clients and tax agencies when needed for operations data management initiatives
  • Manage client records and case workflows
  • Run payroll tax reports and verify information reported is accurate for governmental agencies including all levels of Federal, state & local taxing jurisdictions.
  • Research variances between payment and paper filings as needed.
  • Lead Daily, ME/QE/YE printing and filing of returns on behalf of clients
  • Process complex paper filings with an electronic filing component
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Make regular trips to the post office
  • Other projects as assigned by the Tax Operations Manager and Tax Production Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be extremely organized, have attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines
  • Analytical with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal) to interface effectively with individuals at various levels
  • Leadership and time management skills
  • Assists with establishing tax operations best practices and process improvements
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers and coworkers.
  • Must be detail oriented, self-starter who has experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office products
  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Ability to handle a busy working environment with multiple deadlines
  • Possess strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
