Tax Operations Analyst

Summary/objective

The Tax Operations Analyst supports the Tax Department to achieve department goals. This person works closely with Tier 2, Tax Operation Management, and Tax Support teams to ensure all Daily, ME/QE/YE filing duties are met timely accurately and troubleshoots problem areas before presenting an issue as an escalation.


Essential Job Functions


  • Check Payment Processing in the isolved system
  • Analysis and approval of tax forms
  • Correspondwithclientsandtaxagencieswhenneededforoperationsdata management initiatives
  • Manageclientrecordsandcaseworkflows
  • Runpayrolltaxreportsandverifyinformationreportedisaccurateforgovernmental agencies including all levels of Federal, state & local taxing jurisdictions.
  • Researchvariancesbetweenpaymentandpaperfilingsas
  • Initiatethepreparationandprocessingforpowerofattorneyforms
  • Processcomplexpaperfilingswithanelectronicfilingcomponent
  • Contributetoteameffortbyaccomplishingrelatedresultsasneeded
  • OtherprojectsasassignedbytheTaxOperationsManager

Job Complexity

  • Works on issues of limited scope. Follows established practices and procedures in analyzingsituationsordatafromwhichanswerscanbereadilyMonitorsdaily operations of a unit or sub-unit. Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.

  • Interactsdailywithsubordinatesand/orfunctionalpeerInteractionnormally involves exchange or presentation of factual information.

Supervision

  • Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks, checkingwork atfrequentintervals, andmaintaining Aportion of time is normallyspentperformingindividualtasksrelatedtotheunitorsub-unit.Generally, supervises semi-skilled employees (e.g., production, customer support, clerical).

Experience

  • TypicallyrequiresaBachelor'sdegreeandaminimumof2-3yearsofdirectexperience; may not require prior management experience.

  • Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of controlandDirectssubordinatestocompleteassignmentsusingestablished guidelines, procedures, and policies.
