BRIEF STATEMENT OF THE PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: 

 

The Tax operations administrator supports the Tax Department in an effort to achieve organizational goals. This person works closely with the stakeholders to support the payroll service client base.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION ARE:

 

  • Sort and manage daily mail
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Prepare and process power of attorney forms
  • Maintain office supplies for tax team
  • Correspond with clients and tax agencies when needed
  • Manage client records and create cases
  • Run payroll tax reports and verify information reported is accurate for governmental agencies including all levels of Federal, state & local taxing jurisdictions
  • Assist with QE/YE printing and filing of returns on behalf of clients
  • Process timely paper tax returns and checks
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Make regular trips to the post office
  • Other projects as assigned by the VP of Payroll Tax.

 

 

SKILLS:

  • Must be extremely organized, have attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines
  • Analytical with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal) to interface effectively with individuals at various levels
  • Ability to work well under pressure while consistently meeting time sensitive deadlines
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office program experience, including Excel and Word

 

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • 3-5 years payroll tax experience
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities at once
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills
  • Display above average computer and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Maintain good communication skills
  • Excellent problem solver

 

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, drive, fly and hear.  The employee is required to use hands.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for written work and PC use. The noise level is usually fairly quiet.
