Job Description

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will play a crucial role in optimizing company supplier spend, driving procurement policies and procedures, and executing sourcing events (RFI, RFP, RFQ, and reverse auctions). Will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and handling service providers for outsourced services and assist with the development and execution of sourcing and procurement strategies. Will liaise with all departments especially IT, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Facilities to understand their unique business needs, document requirements, recommend strategic sourcing approaches and help execute against department business and financial goals.


Core Job Duties

  • Develop a robust sourcing pipeline to advance on cost savings and supplier consolidation initiatives
  • Create RFx templates to improve the quality of supplier proposals, manage RFx events, conduct proposal analysis and quotes benchmarking, produce executive-level recommendations on supplier selection
  • Perform data analytics on strategic categories as needed consistent with vendor scorecard
  • Lead contracting activities including contract redlines (business terms), manage escalations to legal and risk assessment
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and maintain contracts and other business documents in support of the purchase of goods and services
  • Review the process of contract terminations, expirations, extensions, and renewals; inform peers and corporate management staff of changes or results
  • Support ongoing organization of contract database and procurement system implementation
  • Manage supplier and contractor certification process; conducting periodic audits to review vendor performance
  • Drive vendor management processes to monitor performance, compliance, and financial strength in accordance with client requirements and firm policies spearheading internal process improvements identified through collaborating with suppliers
  • Successfully engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop, deliver, and complete effective sourcing events
  • Ensure supporting documentation is "audit ready" to meet client's quarterly audit cycle deliverables
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Service Legal Agreements (SLA) for strategic suppliers in key categories that are aligned with the stated goals established through category strategies
  • Administer and maintain Supplier contract files to ensure compliancy and all necessary contract documentation requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a competency area such as Contracts, business administration, management, accounting, or economics
  • Legal contracting experience or equivalent work experience
  • Experience conducting analyses and developing and implementing recommendations/action plans
  • Effective communication/presentation skills at all levels of the company
  • Strong understanding of key business and legal terms relevant to corporate contracts
  • 3-5 years of experience managing RFx events, developing supplier-partner negotiation maps, and leading negotiating efforts on purchase agreements and/or vendor contracts
  • Demonstrated sound judgement, diplomacy, and tact to work effectively and customers and in professional relationships
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization building constructive and effective relationships with business & technology stakeholders
  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, conclude, define problems, and suggest solutions
  • Ability to work professionally and independently on assigned tasks, completing assignments with great attention to detail
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, resolving conflicting high-priority requirements
