Job Description

The Senior Technical Project Manager is responsible for providing technical

project planning, management, and oversight for critical initiatives and implementation

projects for the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). Will ensure initiatives and projects are closely aligned with strategic priorities and that initiatives and projects are completed on time, within scope and budget, and with an extremely high quality of deliverables. Responsible for exercising considerable independent judgment to select proper courses of action. This person will be a highly self-motivated senior team member who is a strong communicator, has exceptional customer service orientation, and can exercise strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.


Core Job Duties

  • Responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of technology product implementations.
  • Accountable for total life cycle project management, including project initiation and planning, development, testing, implementation, and closeout.
  • Manages the sprint grooming or sprint planning sessions, including a review of maintained backlog items to determine demand and team capacity.
  • Tracks and measures team velocity.
  • Sources the capabilities, skills, and technology necessary to meet customer requirements supported by service level agreements.
  • Conducts regular project management status meetings to apprise all stakeholders of project progress, issues, challenges, risks, and project management activities.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and performance with the ability to identify times for intervention and problem-solving with project managers, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Plans and recommends allocation of resources to support the mission and associated goals and objectives.
  • Develop project schedules and recommend appropriate lead-lag times.
  • Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an integrated delivery plan.
  • Accurately assesses, manages, and reports dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Develop required project artifacts such as project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, etc., depending on methodology.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and mentoring to several functional teams to coordinate tasks and activities.
  • Provides input on project team member performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
  • Takes the lead to drive change and continuous process improvement.
  • Communicates across all levels of the organization to share updates and status reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 years of Project Management Experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Project Management principles, concepts, and practices
  • Experience with modern software/systems delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile, Kanban)
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions and resolve conflicting high-priority requirements
  • Ability to communicate and present effectively at all levels of the organization, including C level, build consensus and negotiate solutions and alternatives.
  • Ability to work professionally and independently on assigned tasks to complete assignments promptly with great attention to detail
  • Customer service focus and strong written and verbal communication skills are a must
  • Proficiency in creating technical documentation as well as executive-level material for projects, portfolios, and procedures utilizing Microsoft collaboration tools
  • Ability to coach and mentor other PM resources on PMO processes and best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple medium and large projects concurrently.
