Key Job Responsibilities
Sales & Use Tax
- Ensure sales & use tax returns are accurately and timely filed for all legal entities
- Review, approve and maintain customer exemption certificates
- Review and approve requests for sales tax credits
- Perform account reconciliations
- Continually monitor changes to nexus footprint and ensure compliance
- Respond to sales tax related inquiries
- Work with Senior Manager to document policies and procedures
Business Licenses and Annual Reports
- Evaluate current compliance calendar for all legal entities and remediate as needed
- Monitor and ensure all licenses and reports are timely filed
- Respond to any business license and annual report related inquiries
Income Tax
- Respond to Information Requests from accounting firm
- Review and process all payments including estimated taxes, extension payments and return payments
- Assist with gathering data for the research and development credit
- Review and respond to notices and inquiries
- Perform account reconciliations
Property Tax
- File annual personal property tax returns
- Review assessed value notices and appeal if needed
- Review and process tax bills for payment
- Perform account reconciliations
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a corporate tax department or accounting firm
- Experience with sales tax determination software such as Sovos, Vertex, OneSource or AvaTax
- Intermediate Excel user, advanced preferred
