Senior Financial Accountant
Brief statement of the purpose of this position:
To support the Corporate Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Corporate Accounting Department.
Primary responsibilities of this position are:
Perform monthly duties, including, but not limited to:
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations
- Reconcile Intercompany Receivables and Payables
- Reconcile monthly benefit carrier invoices to employee deductions and ensure proper allocations within the ledger.
- Assist with consolidating entries and eliminations
- Proper recording of recurring journal entries
- Documenting accounting policies and procedures
- Perform payroll analysis and book related payroll entries
- Reconcile sales tax return filings with third party service
- Oversee the sales tax exemption certificate process to ensure compliance
- Recommend and improve manual accounting processes
- Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time by the Corporate Controller
Education and experience:
- A Bachelors degree in accounting with minimum 4 years of experience in the accounting field. CPA or MA in accounting preferred
- A combination of public audit and industry experience or Technology SaaS experience is a preferred
- Financial statement and monthly close experience
- Expert knowledge of reconciliations.
- Knowledge of payroll accounting and related tax transactions. Sales tax experience is a plus.
- Experience with multiple entities and consolidation a plus.
- Intermediate Level Excel user, Expert user preferred (DATATab tools to all previously learned and being used. Connecting to external data, Consolidating data, using PivotTables and Subtotals beyond the introductory level
- Experience with NetSuite Financials is preferred
- Must have very good verbal skills and able to move through roadblocks as well as work with remote subsidiaries.
- Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
