Job Description

The isolved Quality Assurance Software Engineer Team Lead is responsible for developing and supporting the planning, design, and execution of test plans, test scripts, and process plans for projects. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to perform and validate test cases based on quality requirements and recommend changes to predetermined quality guidelines. You will be responsible for ensuring that the end product meets the minimum quality standards, is fully functional and user-friendly. The QA Software Engineer Ream Lead will also provide guidance and mentorship to Senior QA engineers, QA Engineer and Jr QA Engineer.


Core Job Duties

  • Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
  • Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects tosoftware developers.
  • Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen,or content.
  • Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, softwarescenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
  • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements,product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
  • Document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards.
  • Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
  • Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, ornetwork environments.
  • Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
  • Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
  • Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, orcompleteness, or to mitigate risks.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability andfunctionality.
  • Create or maintain databases of known test defects.
  • Install, maintain, or use software testing programs.
  • Install and configure recreations of software production environments to allow testing of software performance.
  • Monitor program performance to ensure efficient and problem-free operations.
  • Identify program deviance from standards and suggest modifications to ensure compliance.
  • Develop or specify standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.
  • Conduct historical analyses of test results.
  • Evaluate or recommend software for testing or bug tracking.
  • Coordinate user or third party testing.
  • Collaborate with field staff or customers to evaluate or diagnose problems and recommend possible solutions
  • Provide leadership and mentor other QA personnel.
  • Guide and promote QA best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft testing tools
  • Expertise in testing in Microsoft-centric solutions and development processes including: .NET framework, C#, SQL Server
  • Agile/Kanban Development Methodologies
  • Azure DevOps Experience
  • Experience with performance and security testing
  • Experience with Automation tools and methods
  • BS or BA Degree preferred
  • 5-6 years of relevant QA technical experience using manual
  • 5-6 years large enterprise or e-business systems experience.
  • Create clear, concise detail oriented test plans/cases.
  • Ability to understand and create test plans from specifications or verbal communications.
  • Liaison with development, business analyst, and customer support personnel
  • Clear communicator (written and verbal) to ensure ability to write test plans and test cases. To communicate bugs to developers and other stakeholders.
  • Creative solving of technical problems to ensure the ability translate technical requirements test plans.
  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables ensures the ability to find the bad defects and bugs quickly.
  • Ability to think abstract to ensure ability to not conform to the norm. Norms do not find bugs quickly.
  • Experience with Automation tools and methods
  • Experience with performance and security testing
