Operations Project Manager

Summary/objective

The Operations Project Manager plays a key leadership role within the Central Operations department, serving as a subject matter expert and strategic partner to both the Sr. Director of Operations and the broader team (Operations Analysts and Production). This role is designed as a natural progression for high-performing team leads, offering expanded responsibility in project management, compliance oversight, and operational excellence. The Operations Project Manager leads acquisition projects, audits, and year-end initiatives, delegates project components to team members, and ensures timely and accurate execution projects. They are a trusted resource and role model, providing guidance, clarity, and support across the team.


Core Job Duties

Project Leadership & Delegation

  • Coordinate multi departmental communications regarding year-end functions, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Delegate project components to team members and oversee progress to ensure deliverables are met within scope and timeline.
  • Facilitate team meetings to guide project execution and resolve roadblocks.

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Serve as the go-to expert on various operations topics including year-end operations, shipping billing, new hire reporting, and M&A Projects.
  • Provide clarification and support to team members, acting as a mentor and resource for complex issues.

Compliance & Audit Oversight

  • Oversee SOC audit processes and ensure department compliance with internal controls.
  • Maintain service bureau setups.
  • Ensure all processes align across all locations.

Operational Excellence

  • Calculate and report department metrics monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Create and maintain SOPs for assigned tasks and ensure documentation is current and accessible.
  • Monitor and manage project workflows and action item completion.

Strategic Support

  • Partner with the Sr. Director of Operations and team on special projects and initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to department-wide enhancements.

Job Complexity

Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Implement strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or logistics
  • Highly organized, must have attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines.
  • Analytical with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal) to interface effectively with individuals at various levels
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong Microsoft Office program experience, including Excel and Word.
  • A strong product, service and technical tax background
