Job Description

The isolved Operations Engineer II role oversees maintenance, hardware and software upgrades, and repairs of network issues, and infrastructure, including cloud and on-prem hosted environments. Candidates will provide creative solutions in close collaboration with key business & technology partners, develop and implement new processes to prevent future maintenance needs, and employ continual improvement processes to identify areas of improvement and streamlining. A vital technical position, and our ideal candidate has at least three years of professional experience in a role related to information technology and operations. Candidates should have experience with ITIL / ITSM servicing and understand the tiered servicing, support, and delivery methodologies.


Core Job Duties

  • Delivery and Implementation Support across multiple on-prem and cloud environments • Have ITIL / ITSM servicing process experience • Develop and provide technical review of proposed design and architectural solutions
  • Implement and support Cloud compute Infrastructure (including installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, and maintenance & monitoring)
  • Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, cloud hosting, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs using standard development methodology
  • Evaluates compliance with the organization's technology standards
  • Support, document, and execute on migrations and upgrades in support of platform asset lifecycle management
  • Assist in scoping, simulating, and performing disaster recovery-related exercises
  • Create and maintain appropriate documentation to ensure others can successfully support customer infrastructures • Participate in team cross-training, knowledge transfer and best practice dissemination
  • Serve as an escalation point for technical problems in a tiered support setting
  • Troubleshoot difficult problems and recommend appropriate actions, enlisting peer and vendor support as needed
  • Aid cross-functional support of Azure, AWS, Linux, and other technologies for performance troubleshooting and optimization
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate to both the technical and management teams in an effective manner
  • Provide current state analysis and future state recommendations of customer technical environment Managing multisite network technologies (Router, Firewall, Switch and Load Balancer technologies) • Data Protection (Configuration, Datasets, Schedules, and Retention Policies)
  • Storage (Storage Architecture, Capacity Management, Change and Configuration Management)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge and experience administering servers in domain environment including installing, troubleshooting, and configuring DNS, DHCP, IIS, Group Policy, User/Group administration, auditing event logs. MCTS or MCITP Certification a plus.
  • Experience with VMware and vSphere Infrastructure, solid understanding of virtualization concepts.
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows 10, Server 2012R2/16, Microsoft Office, Exchange
  • Strong attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) in computer science and/or related experience
  • 5-7 years of experience • Network administration experience (LAN/WAN connectivity, network architecture, network security concepts, firewall administration, remote connectivity (VPN), subnetting, wireless networking, managed switches, QoS, VLANs, TCP/IP concepts).
  • Experience with MS SQL Server administration and SQL language a plus.
  • Experience with network and systems monitoring tools such as Solarwinds a plus.
  • Experience with Linux a plus.
  • Experience with cloud-based backup methods and tools.
  • SAN technology experience, iscsi and fc knowledge.
  • Experience working with third party hosting services
  • Customer service focus and communication skills a must
  • Ability to quickly assess problems and execute a viable plan of action
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) required
