BRIEF STATEMENT OF THE PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: 

 

The  Manager Tax Customer Support, supports the HCM Department in an effort to achieve organizational goals.  This person works closely with the stakeholders to support the payroll service client base.   

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION ARE:

 

Provide Leadership to the Tax Team and assist with

  • Hiring
  • Performance reviews
  • Rate increases
  • Corrective action
  • Terminations

 

Tax Team

  • Serve as subject matter expert regarding federal, state, local and Puerto Rico payroll tax and reporting to support partners.
  • Establish best practices and implementations with cross functional teams        
  • File and pay taxes timely and accurately.
  • Manage the quarter and year end process.
  • Responsible for addressing deselected efiles and payments.
  • Validate all tasks are completed on the daily processing schedule.
  • Build and train staff members.
  • Develop highly skilled and well trained staff to support the business.
  • Advises, builds and maintains successful relationships with cross-functional teams (Treasury and Implementation etc.) and manages to company policies and procedures.
  • Independently handle complex tasks such as escalation management.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelors degree and 2-4 years' experience with payroll tax filings and compliance issues.
  • Detail oriented, proficient in excel.
  • Must have experience working with local tax withholding requirements in OH, IN, PA, and KY.
  • Must be able to create reconciliations that clearly communicate.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers and co workers.
  • The position requires a detail oriented, self-starter who has experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft office product
  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • The position also requires strong organizational and communication skills. Able to handle a busy working environment with multiple deadlines.
