Manager FMLA Services

Job Summary:

This individual will lead the development and streamlining of the client Family Medical Leave administration process. The Manager of FMLA Services will serve as an escalation point for the processing team to advise clients on in-depth and complex leave of absence situations as it relates to federal and/or state laws. This individual needs to have a high technical aptitude to lead client implementations into FMLA software and to identify process improvement. Expert understanding of how FMLA, ADA, WC and various leave laws run concurrent with each other.


Core Job Duties:

  • Identify areas of process efficiency and develop formal standard operating procedures for internal operations.
  • Hand off client implementations to Managed Services Specialist; project manage the implementation process.
  • Handle FMLA paperwork processing for clients in conjunction with processing team through software program.
  • Supervisor FMLA services team members; handle recruitment, performance evaluations, etc.
  • Coordinates the leave process; verifies eligibility, determines leave approval, calculates leave length, coordinates the applicable client leaves including integration with state leave laws, monitors maximum duration of leave allowed under federal/state and/or client policy, and supports the return-to-work process.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the isolved people cloud and the capabilities it has to serve the FMLA process or be able to quickly learn the nuances of the platform.
  • Work as project coordinator for integration process between isolved people cloud and FMLA platform, (or another client HR platform if applicable)
  • Ensure proper documentation and retention requirements are maintained within platform and isolved document management system
  • Excellent ability to adapt and work with different technology, software and programs either directly or indirectly related to the FMLA process.
  • Serve as an escalation point for in-depth FMLA questions/state LOA situations; advise clients appropriately.
  • Assing out cases and tasks for timely completion
  • Assist with development of marketing materials for product positioning.
  • Participate in sales calls, as needed.
  • Work toward continuous quality improvement.
  • Stay current with changing technology, including software and programs.
  • Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to use and navigate web-based software programs and Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and have personal initiative to develop processes and continuously analyze operations for efficiency opportunities.
  • Advanced understanding of federal and state leave laws pertaining to leave of absence.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree; and five to seven years' dedicated FMLA and management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
