Mail Room Specialist


Location: Any


Job Summary:

The Mail Room Specialist is responsible for routing incoming and outgoing mail. Position will also be responsible for administrative office tasks such as ordering supplies, managing deliveries, and daily trips to the post office.


Core Job Duties:


The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Schedules and prioritizes mailroom services
  • Making daily trips to the post office to pick up and drop off mailings on behalf of the Company
  • Performing related clerical work such as typing, filing, sorting, and mail distribution
  • Preparing shipping labels and ordering FedEx, UPS, and other carrier pickups and deliveries
  • Managing and ordering office supplies
  • Operating personal computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software
  • Using various software applications such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports
  • Exercising administrative judgment; assuming responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results impacting staff, costs, and/or quality of service within the functional area
  • Performing other duties, as assigned

Education & Experience:


  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum two (2) years of administrative or other related experience required
  • Excellent customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and follow instructions and procedures
