Job Description

The isolved Insurance Relationship Manager is an integral member of the Brokerage Operations Team. Under the direction and oversight of the Manager of Insurance Operations, the Insurance Relationship Manager is responsible for effectively managing assigned health insurance client relationships and accounts and developing strong client relationships. The member must manage and prioritize multiple competing deadlines and display good time management skills.


Core Job Duties

  • Manage health insurance clients; provide renewal, administrative, and processing support.
  • Handle telephone and email traffic politely and professionally and respond to all employer and employee inquiries.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, employees, and partners and champion high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Establish job priorities to meet customer and organizational expectations 100% of the time, quality assured.
  • Handle deadline pressure with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work with others as a team member and contribute to team and individual goals and objectives.
  • Renew health clients' plans, including quoting, preparing benefit packages, and guiding the client on plan design, plan changes, industry trends, and cost containment using administrative tools.
  • Negotiate cost terms with carriers for large groups of clients.
  • Install new business, including meeting carrier deadlines, guiding the employer to complete forms, and collecting payroll data.
  • Set up and maintain employee benefits portal.
  • Conduct employee benefit enrollment meetings.
  • Make quarterly contact with clients via client visits and telephone; document results.
  • Manage Brokerage Management system, including setup and management of new clients.
  • Maintain the isolved benefit module, train client users to prepare for open enrollment, and keep training current.
  • Maintain current training on benefit platforms and continue education on industry changes.
  • Evaluate and select employee health and wellness benefits (including health, dental, life insurance, disability pay, or retiree medical plans) to create an attractive and competitive benefits program.
  • Collect industry standards and practice data to determine the competitive positioning of the organization's health and wellness benefit offerings.
  • Provide administrative support to customers in processing and managing enrollment and eligibility with customer carriers/vendors, including new enrollments, terminations, life event changes, and demographics.
  • Act as a liaison between customer and isolved benefits services team regarding COBRA, FSA, HRA, and HSA.
  • Act as liaison between customer and isolved EDI Team regarding questions on carrier feeds or electronic forms.
  • Act as liaison between the customer and isolved auditing Team regarding discrepancies on monthly audits.
  • Work in NetSuite to assist and complete cases pertaining to benefits support across the company, appropriately responding to the case owner and the customer throughout the case. Examples of support include but are not limited to:
    • Directional support on system navigation
    • How to process benefits transactions within the system
    • Benefits system training
    • The Affordable Care Act
    • COBRA
    • Research why a benefit plan is not performing as expected


Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree with 2+ years of previous experience in client relationship and health Insurance administration
  • Group Life and Health and Property Casualty License required
  • Current training on systems and regulatory legislation and changes relative to Health Insurance, 401k, FSA, HSA, COBRA, Workers Compensation, and HRA products and programs – with required ongoing continuing education
  • Software experience, preferably in a SaaS environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service
  • Proven ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to work overtime during peak periods.
  • Subject Matter Expert in benefits administration
  • High-level understanding of the Affordable Care Act and COBRA
  • Ability to adapt and prioritize in a rapidly growing, deadline-driven environment.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience or an advanced degree without experience or equivalent work experience.
