Information Security Manager

Job Overview: The Information Security position serves as an internal security advisor and will be responsible for creating, implementing, supporting and maintaining policies and security solutions in both operational and customer hosted environments.  This position ensures company security controls for SSAE 18, and other data privacy regulations adequately satisfy internal and external audit compliance requirements. This individual will be responsible for remediation of identified compliance and risk gaps, operating under the defined guidelines established by the Vice President of Information Technology and Security.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supports the development, implementation, and management of security policies and procedures to ensure they remain aligned with business objectives and meet regulatory requirements.
• Provides expertise and support to ensure company's security framework remains in compliance with applicable regulations including evolving data privacy regulations.
• Provides expertise and support to ensure company's hosted environments continue to meet control objectives.
• Supports the development, implementation and management of security knowledgebase to include all company products and environments.
• Provides support to business during RFP and any security due diligence reviews.
• Execute and support vulnerability scanning programs including the configuration of scan sites, scheduling of scans, and production of reports and interpretation of results.
• Provides support with third party security risk assessments and IT audit, and provides tracking for findings and resolution.
• Provides expertise in support of new product development activities to ensure products comply with information security and privacy standards.
• Identify security risks, threats and vulnerabilities of the company's network, systems, applications and new technology initiatives.
• Monitor and investigate anomalies resultant from scans by the Security Incident Event Monitoring application to ensure all activities are in compliance with the company's policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management
• Adheres to company and departmental policies.
• Some travel (less than 10%) may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong experience with the Information Security Tools and Controls.
• Self-motivated, self-directed and shows attention to detail while working.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute reporting tasks in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to develop positive relationships and effectively communicate with employees, customers, auditors, business partners, and all levels of management.
• Excellent analytical skills in order to identify security risks and appropriate measures needed to help mitigate those risks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS/ BA degree in Computer Information Systems/Management Information Systems or related discipline or equivalent experience and a 2-5 years related work experience in information security governance and/or related functions (such as IT audit and IT Risk Management) Experience with Internal, External and customer audit remediation and response.
• Solid understanding of Information Security Standards (SSAE 18 and HIPAA Compliance) and Controls, including knowledge of data compliance and privacy standards and regulations as they apply to insurance and banking industries.
