Summary/objective

The Senior Director, AI (SDAI) at isolved spearheads the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI technologies to transform our HR technology offerings. Our SDAI will build and lead a multidisciplinary team to innovate and optimize AI-driven solutions, ensuring they align with our mission of enhancing operational efficiency and delivering exceptional user experiences. This is a strategic and technical leadership role requiring a blend of AI expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills.


Core Job Duties

  • Develop and articulate a clear AI strategy that aligns with isolved strategic goals and plans.
  • Build and lead a high-performing AI team, including data scientists, ML engineers, and AI researchers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Champion the use of AI to foster innovation and create new revenue streams.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of AI models and algorithms, including natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (ML), and predictive analytics.
  • Identify opportunities to leveage AI for competiti advantage in the HR tech space.
  • Drive experimentation and the adoption of generative AI solutions for recruitment, talent management, and workforce analytics.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate AI strategies with broader company initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product managers to integrate AI solutions into existing and new HR tech products.
  • Ensure isolved has the necessary technology infrastructure to support AI initiatives.
  • Optimize AI workflows and infrastructure for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Monitor and improve the performance of AI systems in production.
  • Ensure AI models are scalable, secure, and ethical, meeting data privacy and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with CISO and Cyber team to advocate for and establish robust data governance practices to ensure the quality, security, and ethical use of data.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Address challenges such as bias, drift, and scalability in AI models.
  • Provide hands-on expertise in architecting scalable AI solutions.
  • Oversee model training, optimization, and deployment.
  • Stay abreast of AI trends, tools and technolgies to ensure isolved remains at the forefront of innovation.
  • Lead the recruitment, training, and development of an AI-savvy workforce.

Job Complexity

Consistently works with abstract ideas or situations across functional areas of the business. Through assessment of intangible variables, identifies and evaluates fundamental issues, providing strategy and direction for major functional areas. Requires in-depth knowledge of the functional area, business strategies, and the company's goals.


Interaction .

Interacts internally and externally with executive level management, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters. Influences policymaking.


Supervision

Directs and controls the activities of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups or service areas through senior managers who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of those assigned areas. Clear expertise as a manager, leader, and operator.


Experience

Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 15+ years of direct experience, with 8+ years of leadership experience. May require advanced degree.


Scope

Develops corporate and/or organizational policies and authorizes their implementation. Detailed knowledge of company allows for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas. Provides direction to senior managers in various areas, groups, and/or operations. Recognized as an influential leader. Drives significant impact and improvements across their function; strategically plans for how people and processes scale.


Discretion

Erroneous decisions will have a significant long-term effect on the company's success.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in AI/ML roles with 2+ years in leadership role.
  • Proven experience in developing and leading AI projects and diverse, mulitdisciplinary teams, including
    • Mentoring and negotiating skills.
    • Critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving skills.
    • Presentation skills
  • Expertise in AI/ML technologies and frameworks, including various libraries and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
  • Proven experience in developing and deploying AI technologies, preferably in the HR or SaaS industry.
  • Strong understanding of data ecosystems, cloud environments, and modern databases.
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R, Java).
  • Experience with large language models (e.g., GPT, BERT) and generative AI technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and big data technologies.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.


Travel Required

Yes, up to 15% domestic travel may be required.
