Job Description

The isolved HR Technology Specialist primary responsibilities are as a technology help desk resource, Salesforce contributor, and hardware and software subject matter expert to, mainly, internal customers. Additionally, up to 20% of this person's time is spent on administration related activities for People Services.


Core Job Duties

  • Maintaining People Services' use of technology.
    • Learn and support various software applications such as Salesforce, Office 365 (especially SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Word, Excel, OneNote, etc.), external file share, survey/reporting applications, etc.
    • Support and service programs and custom applications.
    • Assist in managing users, sites, permissions, workflows, metadata, licenses, security and distribution groups, shared email access, etc.
    • Provide troubleshooting, training and advice to People Services staff regarding software use.
  • Providing technology support:
    • Troubleshoot, problem-solve, research, isolate, resolve, respond to and follow-up telephone calls, email and requests for People Services technical support.
    • Work with, mainly, internal customers to determine technical needs and identify potential solutions.
    • Perform general maintenance tasks and resolve issues directly, when possible.
    • Working with others, learning and providing support for various cloud-based systems including time and attendance, payroll and HRIS. Managing projects/cases related to those systems.
    • Implementing and providing implementation support for new technologies as well as better utilizing existing technologies.
  • Assist researching features and benefits, costs and build business cases for new software.
  • Project managing new employee People Services team member technology onboarding to include access to software and telephone.
  • Providing contract, new client onboarding and other administrative support. In performing these activities, this individual finds ways to automate, streamline, continuously improve or eliminate the activities.
  • Completing various other HR-related projects as needed.
  • In performing the above responsibilities, this position will:
    • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers to promote a quality service image
    • Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency/effectiveness, and
    • Document and maintain standards, work instructions, procedures and logs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High-energy learner who is passionate about information technology.
  • Excellent critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment working independently, demonstrating resourcefulness, functioning as a self-starter, asking "unasked questions," collecting and analyzing applicable information, determining a course of action, executing plans to completion and continuously improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proven effective oral, written, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • A successful customer service track record in-person, via email and over the phone (preferably demonstrated in support of non-technical users). Proven ability to build and maintain relationships, at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent time management skills. Must be able to handle disruptions without allowing them to affect delivery of quality and timely services.
  • Professionalism and approachability regardless of circumstances.
  • A proven track record of maintaining confidentiality.
  • Availability to provide "off-hours" support.
  • Associate degree in Information Systems or Human Resources (or similar field). Although no previous HR experience is required, individuals with a bachelor's degree in HR, particularly with HRIS experience, is preferred. Work experience may substitute for advanced education.1-2 years of experience in payroll industry and benefits role
  • 1-2 years of technology support experience is preferred.
  • Proven expertise in using, training and troubleshooting Excel, Word and Outlook is required.
  • Use of Salesforce, SharePoint, Exchange Online or other Office 365 apps is preferred.
  • Hardware skills (troubleshooting computer and pc connection issues, etc.) are required.
  • Prior experience troubleshooting technical issues over the phone, via email, and in person using a ticketing system is preferred.
