Job Description

The HR Services Team Lead is responsible for providing a broad array of HR support to internal and assigned external customers to insure efficient and effective HR solutions are provided. Working as a member of a team, with the support of other HR professionals, the HR Consultant is a primary point of contact for clients. This role must provide leadership to the Custom Consulting Associate team in addition to their consultant duties and assigned external customers. As a Lead, they know the needs of the Managed Administration Team as well as the Consulting team and can provide support where needed, acting as a utility player for the Consultants and Associates, and able to communicate and facilitate between the Consulting Team and Managed Administration Team.


Core Job Duties

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for client personnel. Working with others, develops and implements personnel policies and procedures. Prepares and maintains employee handbook and applicable policies and procedures.
  • Administers a broad range of generalist HR management support answering questions and completing projects related to, but not limited to:
    • Policy and/or handbook development and interpretation;
    • Recruiting and selection;
    • Benefit plan development (including health care reform compliance strategies) and ongoing vendor contact regarding benefit options,
    • Employee benefit issue resolution and advice,
    • Complaint handling, discipline and termination advice,
    • Performance management solutions,
    • Development and coaching,
    • Compensation analysis and assistance with compensation planning; and · job analysis/description development.
  • Responds in a timely fashion and provides expert telephone/email HR advice and coaching to supervisors, managers and employees upon request.
  • Develops and maintains OSHA log, EEO1, VETS, or any other applicable clientspecific or legally required HR report.
  • Recommends and applies new HR approaches, tools, policies and procedures for the client.
  • Works to continuously improve the HR system for clients and the company.
  • Completes special projects. Clarifies project objectives; sets timetables and schedules; conducts research; develops and organizes information, holds others accountable and assures completion.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Keeps current on existing and new federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Keeps current on HRrelated issues by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Troubleshoots/resolves escalated issues and advises appropriate staff regarding client concerns.
  • Fosters strong, collaborative relationships within and outside of the Custom Consulting team.
  • Ensures daily operational functions of the Custom Consulting team are run effectively and efficiently. Resolves, with urgency, daily operational issues that arise.
  • Helps to lead and guide an effective and cohesive Associate team.
  • Human Resources Managed Administration Support (either directly or through others):
  • Handles telephone support and monitors email communication from the client. Either handles the issue(s) or assigns tasks to the appropriate resource.
  • Assures timely and accurate garnishment setup and processing, personnel records management, payroll case setup and management and other administrative tasks are completed.
  • Administers new hire and onboarding paperwork. Assures clientspecific and legally required paperwork is completed and on file (electronically). May be involved with new hire orientations.
  • Completes all first reports of injury and is the point of contact for workers compensation case management.
  • Handles the recruitment and selection process for applicable clients.
  • Assures requested reports are generated accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Serves as contact for agencies, agents, vendors and thirdparty administrators.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High integrity professional who is passionate about project management and human resources.
  • Excellent time management skills and proven project management skills. Must be able to handle disruptions without allowing them to affect delivery of quality and timely services.
  • Excellent critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to problemsolve in a fastpaced environment working independently, demonstrating resourcefulness, functioning as a selfstarter, asking "unasked questions," collecting and analyzing applicable information, determining a course of action, executing plans to completion and continuously improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proven effective oral, written, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with clients, vendors, agencies and coworkers to promote a quality service image.
  • Evaluates and revises internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency/effectiveness.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar field.
  • Five to seven years of HR management experience.
  • A demonstrated track record of excellent leadership skills and strong HR competencies.
  • Proven effective oral and written communications skills.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word is required (as demonstrated by tables, custom headers/footers, section pagination, mail merge, paragraph spacing and complex formatting).
  • Previous consulting experience is a plus.
  • Prior use of Salesforce.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent experience.
