Summary/objective

The Director of HR Services Sales is responsible for leading a high-performing team of HR Services Sales Consultants while actively driving new business growth. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on sales execution, requiring a dynamic and results-driven professional who can balance team management with direct revenue generation. The Director will develop and execute sales strategies, foster relationships with key Centers of Influence (COIs), and position our HR solutions as the preferred choice for businesses seeking efficiency, cost savings, and compliance support.


Core Job Duties

  • Act as a selling manager, leading by example through direct sales efforts while coaching and mentoring the HR Services Sales Consultants.
  • Manage and develop the HR Services Sales Consultants, providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure consistent success.
  • Drive new business by proactively following up on leads, engaging prospects, and closing sales opportunities.
  • Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, including insurance brokers and other COIs, to generate referrals and expand our market presence.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed monthly and annual quota objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning to refine sales tactics and drive business growth.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration between sales, marketing, and product teams to enhance go-to-market effectiveness.
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings to strengthen brand awareness and credibility.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of HR technology, SaaS solutions, and industry trends to effectively communicate value propositions to prospective clients.

Job Complexity

Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company. Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.


Interaction

Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.


Supervision

Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area, typically through several department managers within the company. Strong understanding of people management strategies and how to develop leaders in their function to be successful. Builds and supports high functioning, motivated teams. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods.


Experience

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of direct experience, with 8+ years of leadership experience. May require advanced degree.


Scope

Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations effective achievement of objectives. Able to lead and support their function while continually achieving impact and improvements across all areas.


Discretion

Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional, division, or company operations.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in a sales leadership role within a tech or SaaS-driven environment, with experience managing a quota-carrying sales team.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a track record of driving revenue growth.
  • Independent thinker with the ability to take initiative, solve problems, and adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and other sales enablement tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.


Travel Required

Yes, up to 15% domestic travel may be required.
