HR Project Specialist
Summary/objective
The HR Project Specialist is responsible for assisting and completing HR related projects and issues for clients. This individual will be responsible for own project work and project work supporting other team members and client accounts.
Core Job Duties
- Support clients by advising on HR topics via phone and email. Escalate complex situations to an HR Consultant and/or Human Resource Business Partner as applicable.
- Administers a broad range of generalist HR management support answering questions, assisting/completing projects, and participating in client meetings related, but not limited to:
- Policy and/or handbook development and interpretation
- Complaint handling, discipline, and termination advice
- Market compensation reports
- Job analysis/description development
- HR assessment
- Safety manuals and emergency action plans
- Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.
- Special projects as assigned/requested.
Job Complexity
As a highly skilled specialist, contributes to the development of concepts and techniques. Completes complex tasks in creative and effective ways.
Interaction
Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Makes recommendations for new procedures.
Supervision
Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
Experience
Typically requires a minimum of 6+ years of related experience.

Minimum Qualifications
- Proven effective oral and written communications skills.
- Strong skills and experience in using Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel and Word).
- Ability to research to find relevant and correct HR information.
- Have excellent customer service and relationship-building skills internally and externally. Be professional and approachable, with the ability to provide quality customer service to multiple diverse work groups. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with co-workers, other departments, and clients promoting a quality service image.
- Have strong time management skills. Able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously. Must be able to handle disruptions without allowing them to affect delivery of quality and timely services.
- Be detail-oriented, accurate, organized, and proficient in working with payroll/benefit data, benefit plan information and other detailed information.
- Able to work independently, be a self-starter and collect and analyze data, as well as problem solve in a fast-paced environment. Able to use critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- Understand project management principles and practices. Able to manage projects from initiation to completion.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
Travel Required
Yes, up to 15% domestic travel may be required.
