Summary/objective

As a key leader within our dynamic product team, the Group Product Manager (GPM) will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our product vision by overseeing multiple products or a suite of related products. This role is critical in aligning our product strategy with overall business objectives, ensuring we deliver innovative solutions that meet market demands and drive business growth.


As a technical expert with excellent communication skills, the GPM will define both frontend and backend features, specifying user interface (UI) requirements and connections to backend services. The ability to assemble product requirements from a variety of sources-including market research, usability studies, customer feedback, and competitive analysis-will be key to crafting products that resonate with our users.


The GPM will lead and mentor a team of Product Owners, guiding them in utilizing agile methodologies to consistently deliver new products, enhance existing functionalities, and address product defects. This leadership will ensure the team maintains a regular, prioritized delivery schedule aligned with the product roadmap, ultimately contributing to the success and competitiveness of isolved offerings in the marketplace


Core Job Duties

  • Manage feature set to support general experience and common components in an application.
  • Regularly communicate on a technical level with engineering and development, including creating detailed use cases, flows, diagrams, API specifications, and other technical documentation
  • Work with engineers to scope, design, and implement capabilities
  • Identify market trends to shape product lines
  • Conduct product research, requirements-gathering, and product rollout
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps
  • Using relevant criteria, review and prioritize the product roadmap
  • Define design processes for innovation and scalability of current and new product lines
  • Manage complex, cross-functional projects across multiple teams
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
  • Collaborate with the development team to define features
  • Work with the quality assurance team to fix defects and aid in testing, leading the execution in their assigned product areas and driving the resolution of issues associated with those areas across the company
  • Manage and mentor a team of Product Owners, ensuring their professional growth and development.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the product team.
  • Provide clear direction and priorities to the product team.

Job Complexity

Works on issues where analysis of situation or data requires the review of relevant factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.


Interaction

Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors and functional peer groups. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain the cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or schedules.


Supervision

Provides direct supervision to professional individual contributors and/or skilled, support individual contributors (e.g., technicians, designers, support personnel). Acts as advisor to unit or sub-units and may become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems.


Experience

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2-3 years of direct experience, with 1+ years of management experience.


Scope

Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees. Recommends changes to unit or sub-unit policies. Management reviews work to measure the meeting of objectives.


Discretion

Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will cause delays in schedules.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience defining detailed technical user stories and use cases
  • 5+ years of product management experience.
  • Familiarity with Agile processes and environments
  • Ability to define key metrics for measuring product success
  • Strong background in project/program management
  • Demonstrated experience building user experiences and platform capabilities for web products
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Flexibility and willingness to quickly adapt to sudden changes and issues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing deadlines

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.


Travel Required

Yes, up to 15% domestic travel may be required.
