Employee Relations Specialist

The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for assisting in the implementation of employee
relations strategies, programs and policies that promote productive and positive relationships between
manager, employees and coworkers. This role is also responsible for following policies and procedures
in a consistent and expedient manner to ensure that employees are treated fairly and actions taken are
in compliance with Company policy and government regulations. This position works on location for
AmCheck client Hensley Beverage.
Essential Functions
Provides advice and guidance to managers to address employee performance and conduct
issues, including guidance, review and approval of corrective actions
Conducts disciplinary investigations, writes reports regarding investigations and make
recommendations in consultation with the HR Director
Investigates internal complaints and presents recommendations to the HR Director for review
and approval
Summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with the HR Director
Responds to EEOC complaints in consultation with the HR Director and outside legal counsel as
needed
Ensures compliance with all state and federal discrimination and employment regulations
Analyze and respond to FMLA requests and requests for accommodation under the ADA
Administers worker's compensation claims. Responsible for filing claims, followup with
employee and manager, and coordinates modified duty work
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in human resource management or related field
Two years human resource experience with an emphasis on employee/labor relations
Proficient with Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS software packages
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Requires ability to utilize HRIS software
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands, talk
and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Operating standard office equipment (i.e. computer, fax machine, copier, etc.).
