Job Description

The Director, Application Architecture is key to designing, developing, and optimizing isolved software applications. This person will play a crucial role in ensuring that isolved applications are not only functional, but also scalable, maintainable, and aligned with our business needs. The Director will work toward ensuring the long-term success and adaptability of isolved software solutions, with the ability to see the entire picture of all our applications and strategically advise leadership in relation to next generation needs and abilities. This will including incorporating Cloud, Big Data, and AI technologies to create strategic advantage. This is a leadership role requiring the ability to think on your feet, finding innovative solutions to keep strategic projects on track or occasionally altering strategies to pivot quickly based on stakeholder feedback or market changes.

Core Job Duties

• Work with architects to create technical specifications and architectural plans for isolved software applications
• Collaborate with leadership to provide the vision, evolution, and communication around isolved technical architecture
• Work with leaders to create the strategy and portfolio-level technical roadmaps for new and innovative technologies
• Work closely with stakeholders, software developers, and technology team to plan and execute projects
• Provide insights on system options, risk, cos vs. benefits, and impact on business processes
• Develop and maintain application architecture models, documentation, and guidelines
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of isolved applications
• Identify and work with developers to resolve any application and data issues
• Monitor and manage regular updates and upgrades of software applications
• Perform code reviews as necessary to give developers feedback on their work and ensure high-quality standards are being met
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends
• Review and identify performance issues and provide direction and strategies for resolving them

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field
• 5+ years' experience in software development, including hands-on coding and project management
• 2+ years' developing cloud native applications
• Experience leading technical teams and managing multiple projects and deadlines is essential
• Proficiency in various software technologies, architectural styles, and business models
• Ability to assess business requirements and develop software application architectures to meet those needs
• Strong skills in developing reusable components and patterns
• Solid understanding of various hosting models, distributed system paradigms, and failure modes
• High level understanding of different architectural patterns
• Strong ability to work effectively with stakeholders and team members across all levels of the organization
• Aptitude for identifying and resolving issues effeciently
• Ability to work independently to research and solve complex problems
• Experience With:
  • Net / ASP.NET Core Web API
  • JavaScript
  • SOLID principles
• Experience with the following is a plus:
  • Knockout
  • Azure Cosmos DB or NoSQL database
  • Pub/Sub and asynchronous messaging
  • Docker
  • MVVM
