Summary/objective


The DevSecOps Engineer is responsible for integrating security practices within the DevOps process to ensure robust and secure software development and deployment. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments. The DevSecOps Engineer collaborates closely with development, operations, and cybersecurity teams to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities, automate security controls, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Key responsibilities include developing CI/CD pipelines, conducting security assessments, and fostering a culture of security awareness within the organization.

Core Job Duties
•Design and implement secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments.
•Manage and maintain infrastructure security and monitoring systems.
•Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments.
•Understand and remediate system vulnerabilities and security issues.
•Collaborate with team members to improve isolved engineering tools, systems, procedures, and data security.
•Create and maintain security-related documentation.
•Stay current with security industry trends, including emerging threats and security solutions.
•Support incident response and problem management teams by providing containment actions and incident analysis.
•Develop strategies for security and scalability.

Interaction
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.


Supervision
Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).

Experience
Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 4 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent experience.

Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field
•Proven work experience as a DevSecOps Engineer or similar role in development, operations, and security.
•Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
•Knowledge of cloud technologies and architectures (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
•Experience in secure coding practices and automating security testing tools.
•Understanding of network and web-related protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols).
•Proficient with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
•Experience with automation scripts and configuration management tools.
•Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
•Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex security topics in an understandable manner across all levels of the business.

Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.

Travel Required
Yes, up to 15% domestic travel may be required.

Work Authorization: Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
