Job Description

The isolved Deputy Chief Compliance Officer (DCCO)is responsible for identifying, investigating, and reporting compliance risks. The Deputy Compliance Officer will assist the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel with the development, implementation, strategy, management, and oversight of the organization's compliance program. In addition to helping maintain the integrity of the enterprise compliance program, ensure compliance policies and processes are aligned with ERISA established guidelines and standards regarding isolved welfare benefit plans. Responsible for processes which include implementing and maintaining programs and infrastructure designed to ensure company meets statutory and regulatory requirements relating to fraud, money movement, and abuse. Serves as a resource for Legal, Finance, and Treasury staff relating to fiduciary matters.


Core Job Duties

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) related (including tax) matters and activities and maintain ERISA Compliance Calendar Requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Provide analysis, guidance and audit support on banking, financial and money movement to key stakeholders and stay abreast of changes in law and industry best practices.
  • Develop and requisition forensic testing and audits of targeted areas of risk monitoring and mitigation.
  • Create and manage cross-functional teams of leadership for the identification and management of financial risks. Ensure the correction of compliance deficiencies and provides guidance to business unit(s) and/or the management team on how to avoid or manage similar situations in the future.
  • Communicate results of compliance and ethics initiatives of the business unit to management, including key takeaways and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead business unit compliance initiatives, as well as the implementation and revision of policies and procedures as needed to improve the communication, monitoring and testing, enforcement, and/or general operation of money movement and financial compliance.
  • Lead compliance risk assessments (including maintaining the isolved Risk Matrix), audits, and investigations, while training team-members on best practices for identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
  • Drive accountability and adoption of pertinent enterprise programs to which isolved is subject and serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and examinations and ad-hoc regulatory requests.
  • Participate in monitoring and oversight activities for critical and high-risk service providers, including partner organizations.
  • In collaboration with the Chief Compliance Officer, develop and guide execution of compliance testing reviews for key treasury risk areas.
  • Assist in designing, planning, and executing a comprehensive compliance program and strategy.
  • Collaborate with and support leadership (e.g., Legal, Sales, Marketing, Operations and Human Resources) on compliance matters to ensure adherence with laws, regulations, standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Integrate compliance into day-to-day business activities and enable increased business ownership of activities with compliance risk.
  • Perform regular training of personnel on compliance and ethics topics and company policies.
  • Continually acquire and update personal knowledge to accommodate changes to the organization's regulatory environment and needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of regulatory compliance experience in a heavily regulated industry with a focus on benefits services, finance, banking, and software (SaaS and FinTech or InsurTech).
  • Expertise in benefits services and ERISA, banking and financial services regulatory compliance and industry.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS business model and software development.
  • 5 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Well-developed and demonstrable business acumen with ability to apply knowledge with confidence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously to meet competing deadlines.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft products, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Thomson Reuters products (e.g., Westlaw and HighQ) and NetSuite preferred.
  • Eight (8) years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent experience. JD with bar admission in a U.S. jurisdiction preferred. Five (5) years of leadership experience preferred.
