Business Development Team Lead

With a diverse business model that includes introducing new customers and partners, we're enabling our inbound lead follow-up and outbound intent prospecting teams with sophisticated tools, techniques, and leading-edge technology in order to succeed.

Principal Responsibilities


  • Manage a team through call coaching, performance measurements, process improvement and scaling outbound call volume.
  • Maintain an appointment-setting quota established with an allotment of time for Team Lead functions to be performed on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Follow-up with prospective customers from outbound intent signals, lists, and targeted marketing activities within agreed service levels.
  • Use prospecting strategies and research tactics to lead initial outreach and also on-going nurturing activities with prospects.
  • Work to identify the needs and challenges of prospective customers so as to ascertain a good fit for our products and services.
  • Schedule discovery meetings between prospective customers and sales representatives – with appropriate handover.
  • Partner closely with Sales & Marketing teams to ensure timely funnel & pipeline flow.
  • Engage in two-way feedback with both Sales & Marketing teams in order to improve lead quality and opportunity conversion rates.
  • Help identify additional opportunities for campaigns, services, and channels to accelerate sales and funnel velocity.
  • Work to build, grow, cultivate, and leverage a network of relationships within the assigned market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.

Measurement for Success

  • Meet or exceed established team goals on a monthly basis.
  • Meet or exceed established outreach and lead follow-up targets.
  • Meet or exceed assigned lead pre-qualification goals (SAL).
  • Meet or exceed scheduled discovery calls between Sales and prospects.
  • Meet or exceed sales qualified opportunity goals (SQL).
  • Wins and sales bookings associated with your work.

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent managerial skills focused on coaching and improving performance as team members grow within the business development team and progress through their career.
  • Excellent phone, writing, and importantly listening skills.
  • Ability to persuade using compelling engagement and tenacity.
  • Self-starter with a desire to learn, grow and excel in the role.
  • Knowledge of business processes and organizational structures.
  • Interest in our industry, our prospective customers and technology.
  • A team player who wants to succeed individually but also win as one.
  • Ability to work hard, run fast, roll with change, and have fun doing it.
  • You don't like taking no for an answer.
