Summary/objective

The Benefits Analyst is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely communication. This role plays a key part in delivering a positive employee experience through efficient benefits processes and proactive problem-solving.

Core Job Duties

Benefits Administration Support

Assist employees with enrollment, eligibility questions, and changes related to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans.

Process benefit enrollments, terminations, and qualifying life events accurately and on time.

Support annual open enrollment processes, preparation of materials, and system updates.

Respond to benefits-related inquiries, escalating complex issues when needed.

Assist with audits, reconciliation, and reporting related to benefits plans.

Leave of Absence Administration Support

  • Communicate with employee leave to confirm return-to-work date and update tracking system.
  • Track leave usage, manage case files, and update leave statuses in HRIS and tracking systems.
  • Assist Leave Administrator with timecards entries.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (FMLA, ADA, state-specific leave laws, and company policies).

HR Systems, Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain confidential employee records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
  • Generate reports for leave status, benefits enrollment, billing, and compliance audits.
  • Support policy updates, process improvements, and employee communications.

Employee Experience & Customer Service

  • Provide empathetic, accurate, and timely support to employees navigating leave or benefits issues.
  • Promote a positive employee experience through consistent follow-up and communication.

Job Complexity

Learning to use professional concepts. General knowledge of core elements or concepts within their role. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.


Interaction

Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Builds stable working relationships internally.


Supervision

Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.


Experience

Typically requires no previous professional experience.


Education & Experience

  • 1 year of experience in leave administration, benefits administration, or HR operations.
  • Experience with US FMLA, ADA, and state-specific leave laws  is a plus.
  • Experience with HRIS/benefits systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, UKG, Oracle, etc.) preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of federal and state leave regulations and employee benefits concepts.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems.

Working Conditions

  • Standard in office hybrid (minimum 3 days after probationary period) environment depending on company policy.
  • Core Hours: 12pm – 9pm Local Time (adjusted schedule to align with isolved's team during training)
  • May require occasional extended hours during peak periods (e.g., open enrollment).


Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.

Limited.
