Job Description
The AI Integration Engineer is responsible for building and optimizing software applications that integrate AI technologies, such as large language models (LLMs) leveraging agentic programming systems like Cursor or GitHub Copilot, into our SaaS platform. This role requires a hands-on developer who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where autonomy and speed are critical. The engineer will deliver high-value solutions quickly, balancing the need for rapid iteration with the responsibility of managing and addressing technical debt over time. Applications will focus on enabling both customers and support representatives to interact seamlessly with our products, leveraging cloud-native services, AI-powered capabilities, and robust ETL pipelines. Key attributes for success in this role include self-direction, a bias for action, and the ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term maintainability.
Core Job Duties
- Build and integrate AI-powered software tools and services (e.g., code generation, intelligent debugging, data analysis pipelines) into our SaaS production systems.
- Develop customer-facing and support-representative-facing applications that incorporate AI/LLM functionality to optimize product usage and enhance support capabilities.
- Use agentic programming tools like Cursor and GitHub Copilot to accelerate development cycles, ensuring rapid delivery of value.
- Operate with a "move fast and break things" mindset, delivering high-impact solutions quickly while managing and addressing technical debt in a thoughtful manner.
- Drive iterative development cycles, creating prototypes and proofs-of-concept before scaling solutions to production.
- Ensure long-term maintainability by refactoring and optimizing code once value has been delivered.
- Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications, leveraging modern architectures for scalability and reliability.
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines to support data transformations and integrations.
- Develop both front-end user interfaces and back-end application logic, ensuring seamless interaction between users, systems, and AI components.
- Implement robust monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of AI-driven systems.
- Develop automated quality checks for AI outputs to ensure adherence to quality, security, and compliance standards.
- Work closely with product, engineering, and customer support teams to identify opportunities for AI integration that deliver measurable business value.
- Create clear documentation, best practices, and training materials to enable stakeholders to leverage new tools and systems effectively.
- Stay current with advancements in AI, LLMs, and agentic programming tools, continuously exploring ways to integrate emerging technologies into the platform.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance development speed, system reliability, and user experience.
- Ensure AI integrations adhere to best practices for data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Proactively address risks related to AI bias, data governance, and system vulnerabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years in software development in AI/ML frameworks, with a proven track record of integrating emerging technologies into established platforms
- Experience working in a SaaS company environment is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
- Initiative and ability to navigate ambiguity effectively while driving innovative solutions to complex integration challenges
- Capable of translating technical details for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering a coordinated approach across teams
- Passionate about AI, with a continuous drive to learn, stay current with industry advancements, and improve the organization's technology practices.
