Senior Director - Pricing Strategy

Our Product and Solutions Marketing team is at the heart of our business, goaled with driving market awareness, demand for, and adoption of isolved solutions through compelling competitive differentiation, pricing, and packaging in a rapidly growing domestic market for HCM technology. isolved Product and Solution Marketers seamlessly blend creative and technical abilities with strong commercial acumen and so influence the entire company's success.

As part of this team, you will report directly to the Vice President of Solutions Strategy, and will work closely with a small team to engage with our sales, finance, product, and customer success organizations, as well as executive stakeholders to introduce, develop and implement product, service, and company-wide pricing strategies. Success will be measured by positively impacting revenue results, EBITDA performance, competitive marketplace success, and customer satisfaction.

  • Own priding strategy based on cost, competition, and customers.
  • Enable isolved to maximize short-, mid- and long-term profitability.
  • Increase new sales volume and penetration (markets, industries).
  • Increaser existing customer wallet-share and penetration (products, services).
  • Look for ways to introduce new pricing to penetrate new markets and customer cohorts.
  • Pricing approaches that result in taking share from isolved's competitors.
  • Ensure ROI from new, and industry-leading margins from existing product and service lines.
  • Deliver maximum value for customers and partners based on Company financial goals.
  • Comprehensive pricing ownership, management, and governance.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization in the creation of effective and measurable pricing strategies using proven pricing frameworks to tighten and leverage pricing for better revenue management and EBITDA performance.
  • Facilitate the development of new pricing (solutions) based on partner/customer, operations and sales feedback, discreet business challenges, and other factors.
  • Own pricing as a part of the overall launch process for new solutions (our Product to Market process) for direct and partner markets.
  • Understand existing and historical product packaging and pricing approaches at isolved and within the HCM industry; and carry out deep and on-going data analysis to uncover trends, insights, potential issues, and opportunities.
  • Ensure pricing is optimized for and scales appropriately for market (size), industry, and competitive motions, using deep research and competitive evaluation approaches.
  • Design, introduce, implement, and manage pricing policy, audits, governance, and reporting.
  • Collaborate side by side with services business units, product management, and product marketing on holistic product strategy, including new, end-of-life, and price increases.
  • Enthuse passion in everything you do, leading the way both internally and externally, as the vanguard of our pricing strategy.

Key Internal Stakeholders

  • Work with Chief Strategy Officer on overall market and go-to-market strategy and related pricing opportunities.
  • Work with Chief Financial Officer and Finance team to identify pricing opportunities and ensure holistic revenue management and profitability.
  • Work with Chief Customer Officer and Customer Success team to maximize customer success objectives and implement winning professional services pricing approaches.
  • Work with Chief Sales Officer to build comprehensive and competitive price lists as well as proactive discount, promotion and bundling strategies.
  • Work with Chief Product Officer and Product Management to develop product and service level (SKU) business cases, pricing roadmap and requirements.
  • Work with our Market Intelligence team to consider competitive intelligence, pricing inputs, and sales positioning during the development of strategies and initiatives.

Essential Requirements

  • At least 10 years proven experience in product marketing, product management, finance, professional services or revenue management roles or combination thereof.
  • Self-motivated performance driven pro with strong analytic skills and data-driven mind-set.
  • Comprehensive understanding of macro-economic variables such as interest rates, job reports, inflation, credit, risk, and federal/state government financial policy.
  • Solid understanding of subscription based B2B cloud computing software.
  • Broad experience of implementing varied pricing strategies such as value-based, quantity, competitive, cost-plus, prestige, bundle, loss-leader, and dynamic in red ocean markets.
  • Knowledge of customer renewal and retention strategies and churn metrics.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including using the latter for complex pricing models and pricing optimization.
  • Ability to develop cross-functional and cross-department relationships and results.
  • Familiar with product marketing tactics (e.g. integrated marketing campaigns, competitive intelligence, differentiation, naming, packaging, sales enablement).
  • Strong written and visual presentation skills.
  • Superior attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
  • A desire to work hard, make a difference, and have fun doing it!

Desirable Requirements:

  • Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) via the Professional Pricing Society.
  • Knowledge of HCM covering payroll, benefits, compensation, tax and expenses, employee experience, compliance, learning, employee wellbeing, talent, and workforce management.
  • Passion for all things technology-related, current trends and competitive dynamics in the market with strong views on the future of tech.
