Summary/objective
The Director of Product Engineering will oversee the activity of software engineering resources within the Development organization. This includes staffing, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of coding standards and practices for isolved's products throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). This position will directly supervise managers and software engineers as needed.

Core Job Duties
•Hires and trains software engineering staff.
•Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
•Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
•Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products are coded to meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
•Develops, implements, and evaluates tools and operating procedures to improve existing SDLC methodology.
•Identifies and sets appropriate coding standards and parameters for products.
•Communicates coding standards and parameters to QA, product development, and product management teams.
•Coordinates product development processes across Agile teams.
•Participates in code development, as necessary.
•Analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur across product teams; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.
•Reviews client, customer, and user feedback.
•Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Complexity
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company. Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

Interaction
Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.

Supervision
Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area, typically through several department managers within the company. Strong understanding of people management strategies and how to develop leaders in their function to be successful. Builds and supports high functioning, motivated teams. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods.

Experience
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of direct experience, with 8+ years of leadership experience. May require advanced degree.

Scope
Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations effective achievement of objectives. Able to lead and support their function while continually achieving impact and improvements across all areas.


Minimum Qualifications
•10+ years of experience in the software development field
•5+ years of supervisory experience
•Experience managing development teams and processes using Agile methodology.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office, Azure DevOps (or other software project management tool), Visual Studio, and other related development tools.
•Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft development technologies including .NET, Azure services, among others.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
•Experience delivering Human Capital Management software
•Experience delivering SaaS based solutions
•Computer Related or Business degree preferred

Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.

Travel Required
Yes, up to 15% domestic travel may be required.

Work Authorization
Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
