Howard University Internship - This program was built by Howard students and is designed to immerse Howard students of all classifications and majors in the unique and exciting environment of Salt Lake City, Utah

As a legal intern, you will the opportunity to immerse yourself in isolved's culture, products, technology, and business across the country. isolved is a rapidly growing technology company and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) in the human resources and human capital management space. Our legal intern will work with a lean in-house counsel team providing legal and compliance support to the entire organization. isolved will assist the legal intern to develop an understanding of what it takes to achieve success as an in-house counsel in a medium to large sized technology company on a daily basis.


This position is within isolved's legal and compliance department and can cover any of the following practice areas, as well as law department management:

  • Risk Management
  • Legal Operations
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Commercial Transactions
  • Intellectual Property
  • Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Corporate Governance

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Shadowing in-house counsel and gaining exposure to corporate transactions
  • Negotiating NDA's and vender contracts
  • Collaborate with various business units to develop best practices
  • Assist in the development and modification of policies, procedures, and handbooks
  • Conduct legal research on a wide variety of legal and compliance related issues
  • Assist with due diligence requests
  • Assist with the management of litigation status
  • Draft, review, and edit a variety of contracts
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Applicant should have related experience/background/course work/other indicia of interest in the fields of technology, human resources, or similar industries
  • Display a collaborative attitude and a strong team player
  • Second/third year law students are preferred
  • Demonstrate a strong academic performance
  • Reliable access to the internet on a daily basis
  • Must be enrolled in an ABA accredited law school
